AERO-UA is a support action which aims to stimulate aviation research collaboration between the European Union and Ukraine (UA) through strategic and targeted support. AERO-UA focuses solely on Ukraine due to the country’s huge aerospace potential and comparatively low level of aviation research collaboration with the EU.

RADIAN "Facilitating Collaboration in Research and Development to Foster Further Innovation in European Aeronautics"

Details

R&D efforts and international collaboration in the aerospace field are not distributed uniformly among European countries and regions. RADIAN is a multi-step project which intends to overcome this misbalance by identification of barriers to international collaboration in aviation research at EU level and by subsequent development and verification of solutions and measures on the level of the European regions.

    WASIS "Composite fuselage section Wafer Design Approach for Safety Increasing in

    Worst Case Situations and Joints Minimizing"

    Details

The main objective of WASIS project is the development of a composite fuselage structure based on the lattice stiffening concept and optimizing geometrical and mass properties of transition zones of fuselage structural joints. The proposed concepts were tried out on specimens and prototypes, and fully representative fuselage sections were manufactured for final testing and validation.

AERO-UKRAINE "Stimulating Ukraine – EU Aeronautics Research Cooperation"

The Aero-Ukraine project objectives were focused on facilitation of research cooperation between aeronautical actors from the EU and Ukraine. The project activities were based on exploration and promotion of Ukrainian aeronautical actors’ possibilities, information of Ukrainian actors about EU aeronautics collaborative research by organising FP7 aeronautics events and support to the participation of Ukrainian aeronautics organisations in FP7.

     Details

The objective of the HPH.COM project is to design, optimize and develop a space plasma thruster based on helicon-radio-frequency technology and its application to a nano-satellite for attitude and position control. Moreover, a detailed feasibility study was also conducted to evaluate the possibility of using the plasma thruster to heat and decompose a secondary propellant.

Details

The objective of ALCAS project is to reduce the operating costs of relevant European aerospace products by 15%, through the cost effective application of carbon fibre composites to aircraft primary structure, taking into account systems integration. This project included new design concepts and methods that exploit the full potential of composite materials, as well as novel manufacturing and assembly processes.

SENARIO "Advanced sensors and novel concepts for intelligent and reliable processing in bonded repairs"

Details

The SENARIO project proposes the development of revolutionary sensing systems linked to intelligent process control equipment and reliable methodologies of aerostructures component maintenance. Such system will circumvent the inability of the repair control systems to assess the actual material state and integrate the available tools (simulations, measurements, experience and knowledge) into an intelligent material-based control system.
